Board Recruitment
applications ARE OPEN TO JOIN the board of directors
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of everyone who lives in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties?
Do you believe that the Arts, appreciation and care for the Environment, and the celebration and support of History and cultural Heritage are crucial to the well-being of this land and all who live here?
Do you have expertise, passion, and/or lived experiences that will help the Icicle Fund be more effective in our pursuit of equitable, inclusive, and sustainable philanthropy?
If you answered “yes” to these three questions, then we would like to hear from you!
The Board of Directors creates and oversees the goals and programs of the Icicle Fund, shaping the strategic direction of an organization that leverages philanthropy, collaboration, and place-based hospitality to inspire appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of North Central Washington. Board membership provides a real opportunity to shape the trajectory of where Icicle Fund is headed, as well as to help develop programs and initiatives that make a substantial and immediate difference for the lands of North Central Washington and the people who live here.
To date, Icicle Fund has distributed over $50 million in grant funding and has been influential in the development and growth of hundreds of local nonprofits. With the recent addition of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, Icicle Fund now looks at a bright future where we combine traditional philanthropy, sector development, and place-based hospitality to continue the work originally started by our founder, Harriet Bullitt.
As we look to this next chapter, we are particularly looking for potential board members who bring one or more of the following skills, traits, and/or lived experiences:
Geographic Representation: At this time, we are particularly looking for applicants who are deeply familiar with Douglas and Grant counties, as well as the northern and eastern areas of Okanogan.
Lived Experiences: At this time, we are particularly looking for applicants who are deeply familiar with the Hispanic / Latine and Tribal / Indigenous communities.
Skills & Expertise: At this time, we are particularly looking for applicants with a strong background in History and/or Cultural Heritage, as well as Accounting / Finance, Law / Legal Services, and/or Hospitality.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
The application process begins with the form below. After you submit the form, we will be in touch within a week or two to confirm submission and let you know if we would like to set up an initial conversation with a Board member and the Executive Director. After that, successful candidates will be invited to a short conversation with the full Board during our next meeting in early June. More details about all of this will be shared after the initial form submission.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Executive Director Phil Lacey via email with any questions about the opportunity.
