Arts and Museum Funding Initiatives
Several years ago, the Icicle Fund embarked on a tour of North Central Washington arts organizations, museums and historical societies. Our goal was to learn about what these organizations are doing and what they need. As a result of that tour, the Icicle Fund launched three-year Arts and Museum Funding Initiatives that invite all nonprofit arts and museum organizations from Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties to apply for grants to build organizational capacity. July 2011-June 2012 marks the third and final year of the Initiatives. Our focus on capacity building reflects our belief that advancement of the arts and preservation of our history require strong organizations; our preference for partnering and sharing information and experiences reflects our belief that strong organizations and strong networks of organizations are mutually beneficial, especially in more rural areas.
It is our hope the Icicle Fund Arts and Museum Funding Initiatives will provide a means for arts and history organizations to address some of their needs and advance their organization’s mission. The links below provide more details on the Initiatives, including examples of the types of requests that might qualify for funding, and instructions for applying. Any questions about the Initiatives should be directed to Joan Alway, Icicle Fund Executive Director, at (509) 548-0429.
