Icicle Prize

We are pleased to announce the inaugural ICICLE PRIZE, a Juried Festival for Film and Photography.

The purpose of the ICICLE PRIZE is to recognize, promote, and reward creative local artistry.  Accordingly, the Icicle Fund will hold a public Festival at the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee at the Stanley Civic Center on Saturday, March 28, 2009. Both film and photography entries will be exhibited during the day, followed by an awards ceremony that evening.

Photography

Theme:“BRIDGES”
Eligibility:Open to all (professionals, amateurs, and students) residents of Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan Counties. Students with a permanent address in one of those counties are eligible to enter.
Entry Fee:Professional / Amateur: $5 per entry
Students: $2 per entry
Students must be under 19 years old as of March 28, 2009

Prizes:Color Professional / Amateur: $1,500
Black & White Professional / Amateur: $1,500
Student: $1,000
Viewer’s Choice: non-cash
Students are eligible for prizes in all categories.
Sepia will be considered Black & White.
Conditions:
  • The Icicle Fund will have simple rights of use. The photographer retains ownership and copyright of their image(s), but cannot offer a third party exclusive rights to images submitted to the Icicle Fund /Icicle Prize. The Icicle Fund retains the right to publicly exhibit selected photographs for one (1) month after the Awards Ceremony.
  • Photographer will grant the Icicle Fund / Icicle Prize unlimited use of winning photograph(s) for up to one (1) year, with credit to the photographer.
  • Digitally altered photos (anything more than color/focus enhancement and cropping) must clearly state: DIGITALLY ALTERED.
  • There are no geographic restrictions for photograph subject locations.
  • All formats are welcome (all film formats, all digital formats).
  • Original photograph(s) with a creation date after January 1, 2008 ONLY.
Description:All photographs must be authentic to the credited photographer.
Limit:Two entries per person
Requirements:Please submit only printed, matted photographs no larger than 16”x20” (not including matting). No frames, please. Diptychs and triptychs are welcome, so long as the combined image does not exceed 16”x20”. Each photograph must be accompanied by the fully completed entry form and entry fee. Entries with missing information or fees will not be eligible. Please include a self-addressed, postage paid envelope if you would like your entry(s) returned. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, and no prior notification will be given.
Jury:Three professional, non-local judges
DeadlineEntries may be submitted beginning December 14, 2008 and must be postmarked no later than February 14, 2009.

Theme:No theme in any category

31 minutes or over will be considered a Feature Film
Conditions:
  • The Icicle Fund will have simple rights of use. The filmmaker retains ownership and copyright of their film(s), but cannot offer a third party exclusive rights to images submitted to the Icicle Fund /Icicle Prize. The Icicle Fund retains the right to publicly exhibit selected films for one (1) month after the Awards Ceremony.
  • Photographer will grant the Icicle Fund / Icicle Prize unlimited use of winning film(s) for up to one (1) year, with credit to the photographer.
  • All formats are welcome (all film formats, all digital formats).
  • Censorship: none.
Limit:Unlimited entries
