The Overall Process
The Icicle Fund uses an online web-based grants management system. All Letters of Inquiry (LOI’s), grant applications and reports are submitted electronically through this system.
-
The Icicle Fund currently offers two application processes: the Icicle Fund Grant Application and the Arts and Museum Funding Initiative Application.
Icicle Fund Grant Application—This Process allows applicants to apply for program funding, capacity building, capital expenditures and operating support (see Types of Support for an explanation of these different grant types). There are no monetary limits with this Process; however, the Icicle Fund encourages applications that will use Icicle Fund money to leverage funding from other sources.
Arts and Museum Funding Initiative Application—This Process is only for arts organizations and museums or heritage organizations applying for capacity-building support and some small capital expenditures. Grant funds are limited to $10,000. Do not use this application process if you are applying for operating, program or large capital support.
- Once you have determined which application best suits the needs of your organization, login to the Grant Management System, sign in, and select that application. You will be directed to the Letter of Inquiry, which must be filled out and submitted first, before access to the actual application is granted. (See Applicant Instructions & Information for more specific directions on using the Grant Management System.)
-
You will receive a response to your Letter of Inquiry within 7-10 days.
-
Upon approval of the LOI, you will have access to the application.
-
Late or incomplete LOI’s and applications will not be reviewed.
-
Applications submitted by the due date will initially be reviewed for completeness. This includes but is not limited to submission of required financial reports and other supporting documentation. Those who submit incomplete applications will be notified that the application will not be reviewed; missing elements will be specified.
-
Complete applications are forwarded to Icicle Fund board committees for evaluation and recommendation.
-
Committee evaluations and recommendations are forwarded to the Icicle Fund Board of Directors for action.
-
Decisions voted on by the Icicle Fund board are final.
-
Organizations will be notified within 7-10 business days after the Board decision. Prior to receiving any grant funds, organizations are required to complete, sign, and return a Grant Agreement form.
